Importing animal products: a specificity of Boulogne

The Port of Boulogne-sur-Mer is France's leading fishing port and a distribution and processing platform for raw materials from the fishing industry on a European scale. As such, sanitary controls are strict and imported products are controlled by the Veterinary Border Inspection Service (SIVEP). Imports of products of animal origin and live animals, as well as foodstuffs of non-animal origin, are controlled in order to comply with French and European hygiene and food safety standards.

Compliance with regulations: BIMS supports you

Located in the immediate vicinity of the SIVEP offices, we regularly intervene to facilitate the administrative procedures and declarations of the importing companies we represent.
We assist our clients in the conduct of veterinary control operations. We prepare the registration in the TRACES system and accompany the driver on site during the documentary, seal or physical checks.

Please note that new conditions are applicable to the entry of compound products into the EU as of 21 April 2021. Consult us to find out more and prepare your next imports in accordance with the new regulations.
