International regulations require traceability of certain products in circulation ; this is the case for live animals and animal products, animal products not intended for human consumption, animal feed and plants.
The ports of Boulogne-sur-Mer, Calais and Dunkirk are entry points to the European Union where import and export controls must be carried out. Drivers must carry the health certificates corresponding to the products being transported on board the vehicle and have them checked at the SIVEP (veterinary and phytosanitary inspection service).
BIMS will assist you in your customs procedures. We assist you in this operation of control of the veterinary services by checking that all the documents are in conformity and admissible by the veterinary inspectors.
The veterinary certification and notification network, under the aegis of the European Commission, registers the movements and imports of live animals and animal products imported into Europe to ensure traceability and control. Before leaving the country of origin, the import operations must be registered on TRACES (Trade Control and Expert System) and if after control, the goods are not in conformity, they will be sent back to the country of origin or destroyed. We will carry out the TRACES registration on your behalf.
During the passage through the SIVEP, we are present at the driver's side to ensure that the control procedures carried out by the SIVEP inspectors run smoothly :
Please note : the border inspection posts of Boulogne-sur-Mer, Calais and Dunkirk each have their own specialities. We will direct you to the appropriate SIVEP and customs service for your goods.
